For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.

"He Blew a Tune"—John Bauer

I've given writing workshops for schools, church groups, libraries, the UCLA Writing Project, and the California Association of Teachers of English. Here are some of the workshops I currently offer. I can usually tailor a workshop for your group's specific needs, as well.

  • 3 Steps to Being a Better Writer
  • Introduction to Blogging

  • Effective Feedback for Student Writers: Balancing Form and Content

Fees and Logistics

Workshops are $150 for 1 hour, $175 for 1-1/2 hours, $200 for 2 hours, and $250 for 2-1/2 hours, plus travel expenses beyond 20 miles. Please note that 1-hour workshops are not generally recommended. It's hard to get much done in an hour, especially since participants need time to write.

I do offer longer workshops for school staff development days. Training sessions for educators range in price from $350 for 4 hours to $500 for 6 hours, plus travel expenses beyond 20 miles. Please contact me to discuss the best writing program for your school.

Since I live in Bountiful, Utah, workshops in the greater Salt Lake City area are most feasible.
